Qualities of a Faith Man

By James M. Brown, "Sr. Pastor of Victory international Church in Fort Worth, TX."(tm)

Usually we only celebrate men once a year, on Father’s Day. As a result, I wanted to praise the men of our community in an ongoing way. Being a man of faith is not as easy as it seems. Therefore, I give honor to those men who by their perseverance and dedication, to God and this ministry, demonstrate their faith on a daily basis. The following is an excerpt from my book “Qualities Of A Man Of Faith”

  1. Faith Men can take a licking and keep on ticking! One of the key characteristics of a faith man is the ability to keep on trying even when previous efforts have not been successful. Men faith realize that they cannot lose until they quit.
  2. Faith Men can hear and see things differently! Even though most people see things through the lenses of the others they associate with, a faith man can see possibilities that are invisible to others. Men of faith can hear themselves shouting the victory when everyone else is crying about the defeat.
  3. Faith Men will pray and pray and pray! Even though a faith man may have received an answer from God concerning a battle in which he is engaged, he understands that his most effective weapon is still prayer. He will pray, and pray, and pray until the victory comes to pass.
  4. Faith Men have strong confidence! And when others may appear fearful, a faith man will still appear strong to those who are relying on him. This confidence does not come from what he sees in the natural, but from what he knows in the spiritual.
  5. Faith Men won’t take the easy way out! Cheating is an unacceptable way for a faith man to win. How the game is played is an important consideration in the life of those who live by faith. In the life of a faith man, winning or losing is never as important as trusting God.
  6. Faith Men have a vision larger than their resources! A lack of resources is only another steppingstone for a man who walks by faith. Even though a faith man may start with no visible means of success, he realizes that the hope his faith represents has the ability to transform itself into his vision.
  7. Faith Men discipline their lives! As with any contest, training and conditioning is important. Those who live in life of faith take the time to discipline their lives, in order to achieve their best performance. They will change anything in their life and lifestyle, in order to be pleasing to the God of their faith.
